A Broken Line of Wind

Reed Weave & Landscape

About this study

Five indigo reed screens descend along a diagonal across the desert. A vertical slit and loose fibres let light and wind pass. Low sun casts woven gaps as delicate ground shadows, while slender bronze supports, pale gravel and chalk hills mark the scale of a temporary occupation.

Desert light, material texture and a temporary site inform dyed reed screens, slender supports and a broken diagonal. The source’s 3D-printed adobe walls, palm and oasis layout are replaced in an AI-assisted land-art concept.
