Vessels Between Tides
Vessels at the Waterline
About this study
Three asymmetrical porcelain vessels rest between a tidal pool and volcanic gravel. Hand-worked chalk surfaces surround ultramarine and copper-orange interiors that continue in the water’s reflection. Slit, opening and eroded rim change how the objects are read, as if a tide had briefly left them behind.
Shifts between land and water, image and object become non-anthropomorphic porcelain vessels. Figures, eyes and fish are replaced with new forms, scale, glazes and a tidal setting through AI-assisted generation.
