A Vessel for Empty Space

Apertures & Negative Space

About this study

Five chalk, mineral-blue and silver-grey plates stand on a dark plinth. Slits, an ellipse and an arch create an interrupted line of sight. Rough edges and a tiny vermilion mark retain a sense of making, while the removed material becomes the sculpture’s subject.

Industrial edges, apertures and cavities are separated from the reference’s cabinet proportions and reworked into five standing plates, aligned incisions and low-angle light. An AI-assisted sculptural experiment.
