Project overview

A Disconnected O2O Experience

URBAN BLOOM's online content attracted strong visibility, but viewers rarely became visitors. Very few customers redeemed their online coupons in-store, leaving digital reach disconnected from store traffic. The atmosphere promised online also differed from the experience customers found in person.

Key Challenges

Diagnosing the Core Challenges

⚠️

A Break in Conversion

Online visibility was high, but viewers rarely visited. Few online coupons were redeemed in-store, and digital reach failed to translate into customer engagement.

🔀

An Inconsistent Experience

The atmosphere presented online differed from the store's actual visual experience. Customers arrived to find something other than what they expected, reducing retention.

📸

No Reason to Share

The store lacked visual elements designed for social media, giving visitors little incentive to create and share their own content.

User Journey Insights

Understanding the O2O Purchase Journey

Qingmei Future studied how customers move from online discovery to in-store purchase in the new retail landscape. Two factors proved central: visual continuity and the impulse to share.

Research Methods

Through interviews, behavioral observation, and journey tracking, we analyzed the complete path from online browsing to store visits for more than 300 users, identifying where conversion broke down.

Core insight

  • “Visual Anchors Bring People In”:When a visual symbol captures someone's attention online, they need to recognize it instantly in-store.

  • “The Setting Is the Content”:The store is the brand's richest source of content. Its spaces should invite people to photograph and share.

  • “What You See Is What You Get”:What people see online must match what they experience in-store to remove uncertainty.

03

Strategic Framework

A Consistent Visual Cue. A Setting Made to Share.

We developed an O2O strategy centered on using a visual cue to drive coupon redemption, with one symbol connecting every online and offline channel.

Implementation Strategy

Three-Part Implementation Strategy

01 — Online Consistency

A Unified Online Presence

Every online coupon, banner, and store-visit video thumbnail features the BLOOMING symbol, using exactly the same colors and typography as the brand's core visual identity.

02 — In-Store Installation

Bringing the Visual World Into the Store

An interactive, shareable art installation brings the same symbol into the store, creating the final destination for coupon redemption and a focal point for user-generated content.

03 — Designed for Sharing

Creating Shareable Moments

The installation's position and lighting angles were optimized for social media photography, helping visitors capture compelling images with their phones.

500 Suspended Acrylic Petals

Individually suspended petals in highly transparent acrylic create a three-dimensional composition. Light passing through them produces ethereal shifts in light and shadow.

💡
Lighting

Intelligent Color Temperature Control

The installation's lighting and color saturation recreate the filtered aesthetic of the online coupons and store-visit videos, giving visitors a consistent look in their own photographs.

Competitive Advantage

Qingmei Future's Core Strengths

01 — Building Trust

Building Trust Through Coupon Design

Mobile coupon pages and banners use the exact colors and typography of the brand's core visual identity. A prominent BLOOMING symbol in the main image makes it memorable from the moment users save the coupon.

02 — Installation Art

A Photo Opportunity, Reimagined as Art

The BLOOMING light installation, composed of 500 suspended acrylic petals, recreates the filtered aesthetic seen online and becomes the store's defining feature.

03 — Designed for Social

Social-First Photography

Place a sharing guide beside the installation, with the best camera angles and suggested hashtags, so visitors can take share-worthy photos without a professional camera.

Summary

One Visual Cue,
Two Connected Worlds

This project shows why visual consistency matters in O2O retail. By creating a distinctive cue that appears both online and in-store, a brand can make the physical experience match what customers saw on screen, support a seamless path to purchase and turn its store into a content platform.

“The space becomes the content; the installation drives traffic. In the new retail landscape, brands that transcend channel boundaries and create a consistent experience gain the advantage.”
