Website planning & design
Preparing website content for search and AI understanding
Answer real business questions with clear scope, verifiable facts and useful links. Keyword counts do not demonstrate rankings or business results.
Start with intent: learning about a service, comparing approaches, checking evidence or preparing a brief. Assign each main question a suitable page rather than repeating every related term across the site.
Map queries to page responsibilities
Service pages describe scope and engagement. Articles explain decisions and methods. Cases document verified work. Record the target page, intent and content gap for each query. Leave search volume blank when reliable data is unavailable.
Answer, qualify and substantiate
- Give a direct answer and define its boundaries.
- Explain criteria, steps and exceptions.
- Link technical claims to primary sources.
- State actual responsibility in published cases.
Clear facts and useful methods provide more substance than generic brand claims. Closely related queries can be addressed by one strong article rather than many near-identical pages.
Build on website fundamentals
Google's guidance for AI search features emphasizes established SEO practices and helpful content; it does not require a separate special file. Keep pages accessible, links meaningful and structured data consistent with visible content. An llms.txt index is not a guarantee of ranking or citation.
Verify the launch requirements
- Return HTTP 200 with the article body in server-delivered HTML.
- Check robots access and unintended noindex directives.
- Use the production canonical URL and an accurate sitemap.
- Keep Article and FAQ data consistent with the visible language version.
- Verify migrated URLs and submit through the appropriate webmaster tools.
Blocking crawling and requesting no indexing are different controls. A crawler must be able to fetch the page to read its noindex directive. Discovery and submission do not guarantee inclusion.

Measure after publication
Review crawling, indexing, actual queries, landing-page use and qualified inquiries. For observed AI citations, record the platform, date, question and cited page. One observation does not establish stable coverage. Improve missing explanations using real customer feedback.
