Coal Mining
Home to China's largest coal production base, with annual capacity exceeding 700 million tonnes. We pursue safe, efficient, green and intelligent mining, deploying modern extraction technologies and building smart mines for the clean, efficient development and use of coal.
Power Generation
Over 140 GW of installed capacity spanning thermal, hydro, wind and solar power. We are expanding clean energy, retrofitting thermal units for ultra-low emissions and accelerating new energy development to build a diversified energy supply system.
Rail Transport
A dedicated rail network of more than 2,200 km with annual capacity exceeding 500 million tonnes. Our efficient coal transport system ensures safe, timely and cost-effective supply while lowering logistics costs for society.
Ports & Shipping
World-class, modern dedicated coal ports with annual throughput of over 300 million tonnes. Supported by a specialized fleet, our integrated port and shipping operations form a highly efficient channel for seaborne coal.
Coal Chemicals
We are developing a modern coal chemical industry that converts coal resources into higher-value products. Our coal-to-liquids, coal-to-olefins and coal-to-gas projects extend the value chain and improve overall resource efficiency.
New Energy

Smart Mining
We are building world-leading intelligent mines, automating and digitizing every stage of production, from extraction and tunneling to haulage, ventilation and drainage. By applying 5G, IoT, big data and AI, we are creating low-manned and unmanned coal faces that boost productivity and safeguard operations.
Clean Coal Power
We are driving ultra-low emission retrofits across our coal-fired fleet, bringing emissions close to those of gas-fired units. We develop and deploy high-efficiency, energy-saving generation technologies and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) to advance the clean, efficient use of coal.
Modern Coal Chemicals
We have achieved breakthroughs in key coal-to-liquids, coal-to-gas and coal-to-olefins technologies, enabling the efficient, clean conversion of coal resources. By integrating coal chemicals with petrochemicals and advanced materials, we extend the value chain and increase added value.
New Energy Technology
We are strengthening R&D and deployment of wind, solar and hydrogen technologies to improve the efficiency and economics of renewable generation. We are also exploring energy storage and multi-energy complementarity, driving synergy between new and conventional energy to build a clean, low-carbon energy system.

From Coal Producer to Integrated Energy Group: A Leap Forward
Shenhua Group Founded
Shenhua Group Corporation Limited was established, opening a new chapter in the modernization of China's coal industry, with the strategic goal of building a world-class coal enterprise.
Coal–Power Integration Strategy
Shenhua adopted its coal–power integration strategy, a model built on "coal as the foundation, power at the center, supporting rail and ports, and integrated production, transport and sales," creating a distinctive value-chain advantage.
H-Share Listing
China Shenhua Energy Company Limited listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, becoming the first Chinese coal company to list overseas and embarking on a new journey of international growth.
A+H Dual Listing
Shenhua listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, becoming the first coal company with both A- and H-share listings and rising to the top of the global coal industry by market capitalization.
Merger & Restructuring
Shenhua Group merged with China Guodian Corporation to form China Energy Investment Corporation, the world's largest producer of coal, thermal power, renewable power and coal-to-liquids and coal chemicals.
Green Transition
