AI Marketing Strategies for a Post-Cookie World
Plan marketing around user permissions, first-party data, channel measurement and contextual content. Browser policies change; do not assume third-party cookies will universally disappear.
Confirm which data is actually available
Map data sources, purposes, permissions and retention across websites, advertising platforms, CRM and customer service. Browser behaviour, regions and user settings vary. Check current platform documentation and account settings when a project starts rather than reusing an old phase-out timetable.
Define boundaries for first-party data
Collect information needed for the service and measurement, explain its use, restrict access and provide applicable preference and opt-out controls. Server-side collection or alternative identifiers do not automatically remove permission and governance requirements. Evaluate accuracy, maintenance cost and user experience together.
Document measurement limits and pilot changes
State observable channels, missing data, attribution windows and differences between systems. Assess changes using channel reports, acquisition sources and actual inquiry records. Modelled results do not establish individual behaviour. Test contextual content and information users choose to provide, then measure results.
