Project Background & Design Notes

The Vision & Innovation Program is an international exchange platform for urban researchers, designers, and policy innovators. It explores sustainable urban development, intelligent systems, and human-centered innovation through interdisciplinary dialogue to spark City Thinking Power. The identity pairs rational structure with intellectual tension to express connected thinking, urban co-creation, and future insight.

design concept

Inspired by the concept of a Thinking Matrix, the symbol builds on a polygonal ring that represents the convergence of ideas and the circular logic of urban systems. Graduated geometric units create a rhythm of contraction and expansion—balancing structural order with open co-creation in an open ring of thought.

graphic language

  • Circular structure: Represents circulation and synergy across urban systems;
  • Polygonal geometric units: Symbolizes the recombination of knowledge fragments into an innovative order;
  • Central negative space: Evokes an open forum of thought—connection, inclusion, and room for reflection;
  • Tonal gradient progression: Expresses the flow from rational structure to intellectual energy.

Resembling both an aerial urban plan and an abstract cognitive apparatus, the mark balances rational design with intellectual resonance.

Fonts and composition

The wordmark pairs a modern serif in bold gray for Vision & Innovation Program—conveying authority and stability—with a lighter weight for the subtitle for City Thinkers. Centered typography echoes the circular order of the symbol to form a unified visual language of structured thought.

color system

  • Dark Gray #666666: Represents rationality, structure, and architectural poise;
  • Light Gray #B8B8B8: Symbolizes openness of thought and luminous space;
  • White #FFFFFF: Represents purity, openness, and space for thought.

The minimalist, rational palette underscores a balanced aesthetic of knowledge and civic spirit.

Application extension

  • Program applications: Applied across research initiatives, annual forums, and publication covers;
  • Media applications: Adapted for web platforms and video titles to reinforce academic and international character;
  • Spatial applications: Extends into modular spatial signage across exhibitions, symposia, and urban installations.

In motion, subtle ring rotation and luminance shifts express the flow and resonance of ideas.

brand meaning

The identity expresses the core value of Rational Structure × Collaborative Thought: the ring signifies synergy and continuity, the geometric array reflects logic and construction, and the open center holds space for reflection and inclusion.

More than a visual symbol, it is a metaphor for a knowledge ecosystem—giving structure to ideas so structure can shape the future.

Improper Usage (Protection Specification)

  • Do not alter the ring proportions or the number of geometric units;
  • Do not introduce colors outside the specified neutral gradient;
  • Do not tilt, break, or disassemble the mark;
  • Recommended minimum display width: 35 mm or greater.

design results

Following its launch, the Vision & Innovation Program established a distinctive presence across international urban innovation and academic forums—combining structural clarity with intellectual warmth across publications, exhibition wayfinding, and digital platforms.

This project represents Qingmei Future's synthesis of urban systems, intellectual design, and visual philosophy—evolving a visual identity into a platform for collaborative thought.
